Hi, my name is Rik van der Kemp and I am a twenty-something year old web developer from The Netherlands. I work at Zicht Online in Rotterdam as a back-end developer and am a proud father of three children.

Origin of Mief

Mief is a cacography of the Dutch word “Lief” meaning sweet. This word was ‘made-up’ by my oldest daughter Caitlynn when she was about 2 years of age. Now, almost 4 years later, it is the household standard for “Lief” and is integrated into our daily communication, even grandma en granddad use it now.
